  James R. Pratt

James R. Pratt is a 1996 honors graduate of the Washburn University School of Law.  Mr. Pratt was formerly a public defender for the Southeast Kansas Public Defender Office in Chanute, Kansas, where he was responsible for defending a wide range of cases from DUI to Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child to Manufacture of Methamphetamine.  Prior to becoming a public defender, Mr. Pratt was in private practice in Chanute, where he was also the city prosecutor for the City of Chanute and part time Assistant Neosho County Attorney, as well as a special prosecutor for Neosho and Crawford Counties.  Between 1999 and 2001, Mr. Pratt operated a solo practice in Chanute, Kansas, where he practiced mainly in the areas of criminal and juvenile law.  Mr. Pratt is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where, in 1991, he received his B.A. in Political Science. Mr. Pratt is licensed to practice before the Federal and State Courts in Kansas.
